Font del Molí: choosing a Finestrat mountain day

The Font del Molí sits below Puig Campana where a village outing becomes a mountain decision. Finestrat's dramatic peak invites ambitious walkers, but the spring and its surrounding paths are worthwhile without a summit. From here the marked network includes a circuit around the mountain as well as steeper routes that demand a different level of fitness and planning.

The local story

The official Finestrat guide gives the Volta al Puig as an approximately eleven-kilometre, medium-difficulty circuit from the Font del Molí. A summit route gains around a thousand metres and is substantially harder. Those numbers matter because the mountain's silhouette can make distances look deceptively short. The starting point also has a local social life as a recreational area and Easter gathering place.

Plan the visit

Choose the route before leaving town, download the official track and start early with water, footwear and sun protection. Check the current state of trail works and any fire or weather restrictions. If your group wants only a gentle outing, enjoy the spring area and village streets rather than drifting onto a summit path. Never use the more demanding route as a casual extension of a picnic.
